Return of the Blog
I finally had some time to blog last night. I came up with some thoughtful insightful essays (read: rambling raving rants) that I thought would make for interesting blogging. I fleshed a few of them out, but none of them are anything special and not worthy of immortalization here.
And now that I've wasted that time, I'm back to work. Another deadline - meaning less blogging. But I'll leave you with this question that popped up this evening while I was doing some work. Perhaps someone can give me a definitive answer.
Is the term, "Fo Shizzle Dizzle" broadcast acceptable for children's television? Meaning, would I get slammed by Standards & Practices if I wrote a character saying it? I mean - I'm pretty sure you won't see, I dunno, ELMO or BARNEY saying it anytime soon. But in an animated show - could a character say it? Is there some hidden dirty meaning to it that I'm not aware of?
I love that I have to worry about things like this - even if the question does keep me up at night...

I do believe that "Fo Shizzle Dizzle" orginated from the slang term "For Shits." I could be wrong on this, but if I'm not and some parent with too much time on his hands catches this, it could mean a world of troule.
Now, as to why we have slang for pre-existing slang...
Fo Eu-zzle,
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fo'+shizzle+my+nizzle
Don't know if that helps. :D
Thanks guys! So FO SHIZZLE means "For sure." My Nizzle probably wouldn't fly. But would "Fo shizzle dizzle"?
The problem is that I'll never know unless I try and submit a script with "Fo Shizzle Dizzle" in it. And if I try that, then that brings up serious concerns about my mental competence to have Final Draft installed on my computer...
Also - Drakken says "Fo' Sheezy, it's off the heezy." Soooo - maybe fake "izzle" language like fo sheezy deezy might be safer?!
