Death by Allergy (I'm not an Addict)

My allergies are killing me. As longtime blog readers know, I'm allergic to all sorts of grass, plants, nature, dairy, dust, white people, etc.

But the grass allergies are the worst. They hit me in the spring and summer and knock the bejeezus outta me. I can usually just freebase some claritin or allegra and get through the day - but a couple days a year, the drugs aren't enough and I'm just a miserable mess of sneezing and coughing.

Which reminds me - I should note that I'M ONLY JOKING ABOUT THE DRUGS. Years ago when I first started job hunting after college, I got a nice email from a recruiter suggesting that I remove all references to drugs on my personal web page. I'd made one joke with the words, "wakey-wakey drugs" in it. I can't believe I might've lost my first job out of college because someone thought I was seriously into "wakey-wakey drugs." I'm probably still on some blacklist somewhere between Robert Downey Jr and Amy Winehouse.

Anyways, I'm still really cranking on work. In the meantime, if you're interested in superheroes, check out Michael Chabon's essay on superheroes and their costumes.
